Show record

Time To Be Radical (“Theo”) has established an impressive show record in both the USA and Australia. Shown only as a yearling and early 2 year old in the USA, Theo earned ROMs in halter and colour from the open classes, earning numerous grand champion stallion titles in large regional shows, and top 10 in open yearling stallions at the 2006 National Appaloosa Show with over 40 entries, shown by Ray Burchett. He has also won many amateur points in halter and colour.

In 2007, he was broken out by Ty and Karen Hornick and shown by Ty to top 10 placements in the 2007 World show in western pleasure. At the end of the 2008 show season in the USA, Theo was shipped to Australia.

In Australia, Theo continued his winning ways under the guidance of Kyle and Kristy Mobberley. He was shown in 2009 and 2010, winning championships in Jr. Western Pleasure and Amateur Halter Stallions at the AAA National Show, and was Res. Amateur Western Pleasure Champion with Nicole Weston riding in 2010. At the 2009 Halter Showcase Event in Werribee Park, he competed against the nation's top quarter horses and paints, winning Res. Champion 4- and 5-year-old pleasure horse in the $10,000 western pleasure showcase event at Australia's largest western horse show in 2009. He was also top 5 in junior western pleasure and futurity classes at the National Pleasure Horse Association show in Sydney in 2009, showing against Australia's top western horses in classes of over 40 competitors, and top 10 in the showcase western pleasure futurity for open western pleasure horses (8th place/35 plus entries). At the Victorian State Appaloosa Championship Show in 2009, he was western pleasure futurity winner and open class junior western pleasure winner. At the Summer Sizzler all breed and quarter horse futurity in junior pleasure, he was top 3, proving again he could compete successfully with Australia's best quarter horses.

Theo also successfully showed in trail and horsemanship events. Known for his flat-kneed slow jog, balanced topline and strong driving hocks, he could lope fluidly with natural head carriage and smooth transitions. He was also shown to several amateur reserve national championships by Nicole Weston in 2010 at the AAA National Showin Tamworth, NSW.

Theo has been successfully shown and managed by Kyle and Kristy Mobberley throughout his show and breeding career in Australia.

2012 Appaloosa National Show in Dubbo

Time To Be Radical's progeny had an awesome show from March 26-April 2 in Dubbo at the Appaloosa National Championship Show. Two well-respected judges from the USA were futurity and regular class judges: Mr. Bruce Army and Mr. Mike Baker. We thank them for some excellent wins and very consistent judging over the week. All told, four of Theo's offspring earned a total of 14 national and reserve titles at the show! This is particularly exciting because these youngsters are the first of Theo's offspring to hit the show ring. Below are the details of the accomplishments of these promising young horses.

Theo was represented by 2 two year olds, RQH The Duchess 2009 mare out of Yulgilbar Elegant Chick AQHA (by Chickeramic) and Time To Be Cool 2009 gelding out of Cool Storm Kate AQHA (by Cool Seeker), and 2 yearlings, A Radical Chip 2010 gelding out of Middle L Tex Me AAA (by Chip's Texas Star) and Moves Like Jagger 2010 gelding out of Jest A Fallen Angel AAA.

RQH The Duchess, 2009 mare out of Yulgilbar Elegant Chick AQHA and owned by Melanie Halligan, had a fantastic show. She won both the HUS and WP 2-year-old futurity classes, and was national champion HUS in 2-year-old open, and reserve champion in horsemanship and western pleasure open 2-year-old classes. Congratulations to Kristy Mobberley and Mel!

Time To Be Cool, 2009 gelding out of Cool Storm Kate AQHA, was reserve champion in the futurity trail class, and winner of the national champion 2-year-old western pleasure class. He was also 3rd in futurity western pleasure, 3rd in open trail and 4th in horsemanship. Way to go Teddy, we love you.....proudly owned by Leslie and Paul Weston, and shown by his best friend, Kyle Mobberley.

A Radical Chip, 2010 gelding out of Middle L Tex Me AAA, was champion yearling gelding and grand champion halter gelding at the Preshow, and won reserve futurity halter yearling gelding as well. This pretty boy was trained and handled by Tim French and is owned by Courtney Holden of WA, who also was top youth 14-18 competitor at the show, riding a lovely leopard gelding. Congratulations Courtney and Deb!

Moves Like Jagger, 2010 gelding out of Jest A Fallen Angel AAA, had a fabulous show with his owner Sharon Ingram, who trained and handled him. He started out hot winning the yearling suitability for dressage class out of 11, and also won open yearling halter and was junior halter open gelding too. Mick also won yearling longe line and was reserve champion in led hack, too. He also placed well in the trail class. Congratulations Sharon on all of these great placements!

Cayuga Ridge Ranch would also like to congratulate Elaena Brown of Taupo, New Zealand on her purchase of RQH Two Timin Chick, 2-year-old bay mare by Time To Be Radical out of Isle Be Chick AQHA, bred by Diane Rose and owned by Wendy Willox. This pretty filly will be broken out by Kyle and Kristy Mobberley before she heads over to New Zealand later this year.

Stay tuned to see what these amazing horses will come up with next!
